What is Surplus Property

Surplus Property is a part of the Procurement Services Department that is responsible for the disposal, redistribution, and/or sale of used equipment/property that the University of Missouri and other Mid-Missouri government agencies and educational institutions no longer use.  The sale of the equipment is handled through public auctions, sales, or online.  A completed Form 27 must accompany all items. Surplus Property receives no General Operating (G.O.) funds. All salaries, benefits, operational, marketing and sales costs are paid by the 35% retained from the sale of surplus equipment.

Missouri S&T Surplus is located at 301 N Bishop Avenue, Rolla, MO. 

The warehouse is not staffed full time, so please contact Greg Hook in Campus Procurement if you wish to view surplus items.   Appointments to view, deliver, or pickup items may be made by contacting Greg (Phone:  573-341-6150, Email:  hookga@mst.edu ).

 

 

Who Can Purchase From Surplus Property

All University of Missouri property and equipment at the Surplus Property Warehouse is available to other University of Missouri departments at reasonable prices, and may be purchased up to 12:00 pm on the Friday prior to public auctions or sales. Departments wishing to purchase items from the Surplus Property Warehouse or from a Surplus Property public auction /sale, should complete the University of Missouri Internal Order Form (UM48). Surplused property and equipment from other Mid-Missouri government agencies and educational institutions can only be purchased at public auctions /sales. On-line bidding is now available.  Be sure to sign up!

 

 

Surplus Google Group
Missouri University of Science and Technology Campus Procurement is now offering a Surplus Google Groups(similar to previous list serve) for anyone interested in receiving notices or updates for surplus activities or sales. This list will allow Missouri Science and Technology Campus Procurement to better distribute notices of upcoming sales or information related to surplus.

To subscribe:

  1. Click Surplus-grp which will open Surplus Google Groups Webpage
  2. Click on "Join this group" on the right hand side of the page
    • If you have a Missouri University of Science and Technology (mst.edu e-mail address) use that and its password to sign-in to Google,
    • Otherwise, click "Sign-in with a different account" below that and enter an e-mail address that you use to authenticate to Google. (For people to subscribe to a Group, they will have to have a Google account.)
  3. Review the settings presented to you and click "Join this group" to receive all notices sent out to that Group.
  4. Click on the drop-down arrow beside your account name in the upper right-hand corner and choose sign out.

To unsubscribe:
